Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Clayton, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and military facility.

This project consists of construction of an Entry Control Point for SOF on Fort Bragg NC. Project includes secure visitor center/package search area, covered canopy, passive and active secure barriers, and associated infrastructure. This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is NOT a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the Government in any contract award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, is conducting research to determine the market capabilities of potential contractors to construct an Entry Control Point on Fort Bragg, NC. The scope of this project consists of: SITE WORK: Civil/Site work consists of grading and earthwork associated with the construction of a new building/new guardhouses and associated concrete sidewalks, fencing, storm drainage, stormwater management areas, and erosion and sediment control. Work also includes construction of an access drive and security barriers. Demolition includes miscellaneous site features, fencing, and vegetation. ARCHTECTURAL/STRUCTURAL WORK: Structural and architectural work consists of the construction of a new visitor center building, truck inspection canopy, guard shacks and renovation of the existing guardhouse. Work includes construction/installation of all interior partition walls, doors, finishes, casework, and other structural and architectural elements. The demolition work will include selective demolition within the existing guardhouse. The primary structural systems for the Truck Inspection Canopy and the Guard Shack will be pre-engineered structures. The primary structural system for the Visitor Center will be load bearing concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls, pre-engineered metal roof trusses with a metal roof deck. The structures will be supported by shallow foundations consisting of spread footings for column loads and continuous perimeter strip footings for wall loads. MECHANICAL/PLUMBING WORK: Mechanical work consists of installation of new mechanical equipment to serve the buildings. Work includes installation of air handlers, heat pumps and associated ductwork, piping, diffusers, registers, grilles, exhaust fans, thermostats, controls, and other associated appurtenances. Plumbing work consists of installation of new plumbing fixtures, water heater, piping, drains and associated appurtenances. ELECTRICAL/TELECOMMUNICATIONS/SECURITY WORK: Electrical work consists of installation of new lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, circuits, disconnects, starters, panelboards, transformers, an emergency backup generator with associated gear, and other appurtenances. Work also includes installation of grounding and lightning protection systems to serve the buildings and canopy. Telecommunications work consists of installation of new telecommunications outlets, cable tray, racks, cabling, switches and other devices as shown on the construction drawings. Work also includes installation of new outside plant cabling consisting of fiber optic cables. Security work consists of installation of all junction boxes, conduit, cabling and other security / intrusion detection related infrastructure. In accordance with FAR 36.204(f) the magnitude of construction for this project will be between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
