Work description: This work shall include furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and other incidentals necessary for hot-mix asphalt removal; pulverization of existing pavement; base course grading, placement of hot-mix asphalt binder and surface course; curb and gutter removal and replacement; sidewalk removal and replacement; replacement of drainage structures and sewers; water main replacement and installation; sanitary sewer replacement, restoration and all incidental and miscellaneous items of work in accordance with the plans, standard specifications and these Special Provisions. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security equal to five (5) percent of the Bid in the form of a Bid Bond written by a company properly licensed in Illinois, a certified check or a cashiers check. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond on forms provided in the Specifications and Contract Documents, equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price. SCOPE OF WORK The Village of Fox Lake is updating the Village's Wayfinding signage to provide better direction and information to residents and visitors. The Contractor will provide structural engineering based on the Fabrication Specifications, furnish, and install new signs as seen in the attached Details. In some locations, the existing sign and associated landscaping will need to be removed and disposed of. Many of the signs are in IDOT, Lake County, or McHenry County rights of way. Permits have been initiated but will need to be finalized by the Contractor in coordination with the Village of Fox Lake and other local governing bodies. All signs shall follow SSRBC 721, 723, 727, 729, 730, 734. Steps to finalize permitting for signage (to be completed by the Contractor): 1. Provide proof of insurance 2. Furnishing sign components with the following details: a. IDOT-approved breakaway mounts. b. Proof of crashworthiness. c. Proof of reflectivity. d. Documentation of materials and size of posts. e. Design drawings that show the sign arrows to match the following standard: i. Straight ahead on top ii. Followed by the left-side destinations iii. Right side at the bottom iv. Right arrows must be placed to the right of the text. 3. Provide the height of the sign as measured from the centerline of the road.
