Site work for a water / sewer project in Batavia, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project has been identified in the Water Division Water Main Replacement Program as a priority for replacement, and will be completed in conjunction with the Prairie St. Phase II Reconstruction Project. The Prairie St. and E. Wilson St. The water main is being replaced due to several large pipe failures. WM will be replaced several hundred feet to the north, east, and west of the Prairie & E. Wilson intersection. The new DIWM will be 8"-12" diameter to replace a 4"-6" cast iron pipe, significantly improving fire flow and water quality. Two borings will be needed under the railroad ROW along with casing piping which drastically increases replacement costs. Fiscal Years 2023-2027, as of March 14, 2024, per owner, this project is under construction. A design team and general contractor have been identified. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-November 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
