Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, a deposit of cash or by a certified check payable to the Essex County Airport Authority and drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in the State of Virginia, for an amount equal to 5% of the total base bid, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the required Contract will be executed and the required Performance Bond and Payment Bond furnished within ten (10) days after receipt of written notice of formal award of Contract. It is the intent of the Essex County Airport Authority to award the entire project, however, the award of this contract is contingent upon the availability of local, state, and federal funds. The Essex County Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
