Renovation of a water / sewer project in Silverthorne, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 45,000-square-foot water / sewer project.
The Silverthorne/Dillon Joint Sewer Authority is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to remove and replace a ballasted membrane roof on its Blue River WWTP main building. Successful Bidders have options to propose a ballasted roof replacement or bare membrane roof, subject to details in the Scope of Work document. The Silverthorne/Dillon Joint Sewer Authority is issuing this Solicitation for the purpose of replacing the roof over the majority of the main building of the BRWTP. The existing roof is a ballasted roof installed in 2001. Bidders may suggest alternative roofing membranes and styles The Silverthorne/Dillon Joint Sewer Authority operates the Blue River WWTP located at 26452 CO-9 in Silverthorne, Colorado. Most of the existing roof was installed in 2001. Since then, the membrane has shrunk, pulling away from exterior walls, and developed several leaks. The JSA seeks to replace the roof, making some intended improvements in roof design and installation inclusive to the RFP. Items for Consideration: 1. Replace the existing roof (appx 45,000 square feet), excepting one section, with new membrane roof. Bids may be presented as one or both of two options: a. The proposed roof may be constructed of ballasted membrane design, reusing rock as possible, or, b. The proposed roof may be cleared of rock and a bare adhered membrane roof applied. Cleared rock may be retained onsite at Owner's discretion, include disposal of ballast as a bid alternate line item. The adhered membrane selected will be UV-resistant PVC, TPO, or EPDM of a subdued natural color, not less than 60 mils thick. Color choice is subject to approval by Town of Silverthorne Community Development staff. Product data sheets with color choices are expected in bid responses, black or white membranes will not be allowed. Materials used are expected to be sourced from one supplier to maintain roofing system compatibility. 2. Replace flashing, penetration boots, and trim, sealing and weatherproofing as directed by manufacturer. 3. Correction of drainage around a roof air handler by installation of ISO insulation wedges or alternate remedial concept. 4. Correction of an existing pond-type feature to include a low point drain or as a bid alternate elevation of roof substrate to same plane as surrounding concrete so as to eliminate pond. 5. Assessment and placement of drainage via basket drains, scuppers, downspouts, etc. to prevent further damage to the building exterior. Downspouts are to be replaced and have (re)moveable extension from building foundations. 6. Disposal of roof ballast, if required. 7. Clean work areas used during proposed work and restore to previous conditions. Magnet sweep all areas surrounding application of metal fasteners. 8. Confirm installation conforms with manufacturer requirements with Manufacturer Representative and provide warranty against defects in installation and workmanship for at least one (1) years and materials for at least twenty (20) years.
