In order to be accepted, bids must be received prior to 2:00 p.m. Therefore, a bid received at 1:59 p.m. will be accepted, but one delivered at or after 2:00 p.m. is late and will not be accepted. General Description of Work: The work, in general, consists of pavement maintenance, including: crack sealing; slurry seal; removal and replacement of hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving; traffic striping; traffic control; water pollution control; and related items of work as shown on the plans, as specified in the Standard Specifications and these special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer. Each Bidder must submit with its bid security in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate amount of the base bid in one of the following forms: cashier's check made payable to the City, a certified check made payable to the City, or a bidder's bond executed by a corporate surety authorized to engage in such business in the State, made payable to the City. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, as well as a faithful performance bond, in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids; to make any awards or any rejections in what it alone considers to be in the best interest of the City, and waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bids.
