The Board of Trustees of the New London Public Library are accepting Statements of Qualifications from interested design professionals to serve as a Project Architect for the construction by a general contractor after competitive bidding, of an addition, installation of a new elevator, and removal of the existing elevator at the existing facility of the New London Library, located at 67 S. Main St., New London, Ohio 44851 The Board of Trustees of the New London Public Library is seeking the professional design services of a Project Architect for its Elevator Replacement Project. General Description of Project The Elevator Replacement Project consists of the following components: 1. Addition of a new room to the existing facility located at 67 S. Main St., New London, Ohio 44851; 2. Installation of a new elevator; 3. Removal of the currently existing elevator; and 4. Finishing/remodeling the existing facility to the extent damaged in the foregoing installations. Total budget for the entire project is $300,000, which is not contingent on outside funding. Scope of Services Required The Board's intended scope of services to be provided by the Project Architect for this engagement is: development of construction plans and specifications to allow for competitive bidding and construction by a contractor of the Elevator Replacement Project; developing notices and bid packets, including specifications and contract documents; preparation of preliminary cost estimates for construction of the Elevator Replacement Project; and development and tracking of timelines to meet a date for substantial completion. The work is also intended to include financial analysis of any options available to render the project more economical and feasible. The Project Architect will also be expected to: assist in the evaluation of competitive bidders; serve as the representative of the Board during construction; provide ongoing design and construction administration and oversight services, including but not limited to, confirming that the construction performed meets the plans and specifications; and keep the Board apprised of construction progress.
