The work of this contract includes, but is not limited to: The replacement of existing lead water service pipe with new copper water pipe. The project includes excavation at the water main, connecting to the existing water main corporation, installation of new copper pipe to the sidewalk, installation of new curb stop and box, and adapter to the existing private side water service. Additionally, new corporation taps may be required at the discretion ofthe owner. Final trench paving and concrete sidewalk restoration is included. -Replace existing lead service pipe from the water main to the curb stop in the sidewalk. Install permeant pavement for all trenches, all sidewalks where excavation takes place are to be restored with concrete. Saw cut roadway trench limits. b. Excavate to identify service material at corporation stop and curb stop. Confirm service material with Owner prior to work commencing. c.If a lead service is identified, proceed with replacing the service line. If a copper service is identified, do not proceed with replacing the service line and back fill the excavation. d. Turn offthe water service at the existing corporation stop. e. Disconnect the water service from the corporation stop. f. Ream the corporation stop. Furnish and install the corporation stop adapter if directed to do so by the Owner. gh. Furnish and install a %" copper whip. i. Furnish and install a %" to 1" compression adapter. j- Furnish and install 1" copper service pipe to one linear foot from the back of sidewalk within the right ofway. Means and methods are at the discretion ofthe contractor. k. Flush waster service for a minimum of 60 seconds. 1. Furnish and install a 1" curb stop. Connect 1" copper to new curb stop. m. Furnish and install a 1" copper whip and connect to back ofnew curb stop. n. Furnish and install a 1 " to %" compression adapter. o. Furnish and install a %" copper whip. p. Flush water service for a minimum of 60 seconds. q. Connect %" copper whip to existing %" private service. r. Turn all corporations and curb stops to on position. s. Furnish and install new curb stop box to finish grade. t. Backfill and compact trench. u. Pave trench, reset curb, install concrete sidewalk. v. Clean up and sweep work area. w. All traffic control is the responsibility ofthe contractor. All asphalt shall be protected until acceptable for traffic loading. x. Surfaces to remain are to be protected and any surfaces damaged shall be replaced by the contractor at no additional expense to the owner.
