The Town of Marblehead is requesting quotes to provide all labor, equipment, materials and supervision necessary to remove and existing railing and install a new pipe railing on an existing seawall on Beacon Street at Grace Oliver Beach in Marblehead, Mass.: General Scope of work. 1.Prior to submitting a quote the Contractor shall review the bid documents and conduct a site visit to become familiar with the site conditions affecting construction. 2.Maintain safety barriers in place to secure the work area on Beacon Street.. 3.Arrange police details. 4.Remove and dispose of the existing steel and wood railing. 5.Install temporary barriers as necessary to replace removed railing. 6.Premark the proposed post hole to a true consistent smooth curve and line. 7.Install post holes to accept the new railing posts by coring or pneumatic drilling into the cap stones of the existing wall. 8.Repair or replace capstones damaged by drilling/coring operations. 9. Install the railing posts plumb and cut the post as necessary to ensure an even top rail grade. 10. Fabricate the railing system by cutting to the pipe railings to proper length and install with prefabricated joint fittings per the manufacturers instructions. 11.
