UC San Diego requests qualifications for selecting an Executive Architect for the Hillcrest Medical Center Redevelopment Phase Two project. The original Hillcrest Medical Center located on the UC San Diego Hillcrest Campus, constructed in the 1960s and expanded over the last few decades, has become obsolete for serval reasons and has exhausted its useful lifespan. In order to provide the surrounding community and San Diego County with the required and most cutting-edge healthcare services the University is embarking on a plan to redevelop and expand the medical campus. The proposed Hillcrest Medical Center Redevelopment Phase Two is expected to include a Hospital (HCAI 1, Level One Trauma Center), parking structure, road improvements, a central plant, and additional campus redevelopment. The University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs), subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The selected consultant shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each candidate firm may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.
