The Project includes the following Work: Furnish and Install approximately 1,793 LF of 12 watermain, 2,275 LF of 8 diameter and 294 LF of 6 diameter water main and associated service lines; Furnish and Install approximately 3 EA Sanitary Sewer Manholes; Furnish and Install approximately 320 LF of Directional Drill 12 Watermain; Furnish and Install approximately 119 LF of 18 RCP storm sewer and 64 LF of 12 RCP storm sewer; Furnish and Install approximately 8 Storm Sewer Structures; Furnish and Install water tracer wire systems; Approximately 13,627 SY of asphalt concrete removal; Approximately 2,050 SY of 2 depth asphalt cold milling; Furnish and Install approximately 130,290 SF of cement treated subgrade stabilization; Furnish and Install approximately 7,590 Tons of base course; Furnish and Install approximately 13,166 SY of 4 asphalt concrete and 2,050 SY of 2 asphalt concrete; Furnish and Install approximately 596 SY of PCC approach pavement; Furnish and Install approximately 27 SY of reinforced PCC approach pavement; Furnish and Install approximately 4,699 LF of concrete curb & gutter; Furnish and install approximately 7,929 SF of concrete sidewalk; Surface restoration and all other miscellaneous work required not herein mentioned, but inferred from the construction Contract Documents. Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with Title 40 CFR 33 and Executive Order 12138 (WBE). The MBE goal for this project is 1% of the total dollar value of the job while the WBE goal is 4% of the total dollar value of the job. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President s Executive Order Nos. 11246 (Equal Employment) as amended, 11518 (Small Business Concerns), and 11625 (MBE) as amended. The goal for female utilization which shall be included in all federal and federally assisted construction contracts and subcontracts in excess of $10,000 shall be 6.9%. The goal for minority utilization which shall be included in all federal and federally assisted construction contracts and subcontracts in excess of $10,000 shall be 0.8%. The goals are applicable to the Contractor s aggregate on-site construction workforce whether or not part of that workforce is performing work on a federal and federally assisted contract or subcontract. Scope of Services Our work was performed in accordance with the authorization of Ryan Hegg with the City of Madison. The scope of work as presented in this report is limited to the following: 1. To perform 7 standard penetration test (SPT) borings to gather data on the subsurface conditions for the project. 2. To perform laboratory tests that include moisture content, dry density, standard Proctor, pH, sulfate content, chloride content, resistivity, redox potential and sulfide content. 3. To prepare an engineering report that includes the results of the field and laboratory tests as well as our geotechnical engineering opinions and recommendations regarding the following: o Existing pavement section; o Subsurface conditions; o Underground utility excavation and backfilling; o Subgrade strength and potential corrective measures; o Pavement section thicknesses; o Corrosive potential of the soils; o Special geotechnical conditions that may impact the constructability and final performance of the project; o Quality control observation and testing
