Jail Rooftop Unit Replacement 1. There are a total of 14 rooftop units (RTUs) serving the jail building that are approaching the end of their expected service life. 2. Provide and install RTUs with DX cooling to replace the existing units. a. Option 1: Replace units with like-for-like DX units with no part load compressor or fan modulation, airside economizer functionality, and induction gas heat. b. Option 2: Replace units with DX units with hot-gas-reheats with humidity controls, airside economizer functionality, and induction gas heat. c. Option 3: Replace units with DX units with variable speed units that provide humidity control, part load compressor and fan modulation to use less energy and provide better occupant comfort. 3. Shutdown the existing units and recover the refrigerant. 4. Disconnect and remove the RTUs. 5. New adapter curbs will be provided and installed on the existing roof curbs. 6. Hoist the new RTUs to the roof and secure it to the existing curbs. 7. Provide a full size drain off the RTUs. 8. Extend the existing electrical circuit to the RTUs and connect. 9. Extend the existing fire alarm shutdown circuits to the new RTUs and connect. 10. Start-up the new RTUs. 11. Provide test and balance of the new RTUs. 12. Units will be connected into the building's existing automation system. 13. Construction project management and project development.
