As of November 12, 2025, project awarded and construction started in 2024. McHenry County Division of Transportation desires to contract with a qualified engineering firm to assist the County of McHenry in developing Phase I Preliminary Engineering with an option for Phase II Design Engineering for safety improvements at three (3) intersections located in McHenry County. The intersections are Spring Grove Road at Miller Road, Alden Road at O'Brien Road, and Maple Street at Coral Road. All work shall conform to IDOT/FHWA policies and procedures for federal aid projects and will be completed under applicable BLR and BDE Manuals. Maple Street at Coral Road: The intersection of Maple Street and Coral Road is located in Unincorporated McHenry County, Riley Township just south of the City of Marengo. Both Maple Street and Coral Road are under the jurisdiction of McHenry County Division of Transportation. The 4-legged intersection is 2-way stop controlled. Maple Street is stop controlled. Coral Road is at a slight skew. The surrounding land area is mixed between agricultural and residential uses Each location will have a separate Project Development Report and will be processed independently through IDOT.
