The Town of Smithfield is seeking Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified contractors to provide Mowing Services within the Town's rights of way for a term of one (1) year with the right to renew the contract for an additional two (2) years after review of performance. The Town of Smithfield is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to perform seasonal grass cutting maintenance work within the Town's rights of way. The contractor shall utilize all signage as required by VDOT and the current VDOT Virginia Work Area Protection Manual and also as directed by the Town Engineer. Contractor shall provide all necessary insurance relative to work provided. Contractor will cut grass and edge curbing as required bi-monthly for the following eight (8) month period of April - November. The Superintendent of Public Works will determine which months may require only one or more than one grass cutting due to weather conditions. Proposals should be sent as a .pdf attachment to lking@smithfieldva.gov and copied to mstallings@smithfieldva.gov. The electronic submittal shall be 150 MB, or less, saved as a .pdf document and should conserve disk space to allow easy transfers of data.
