Site work for a water / sewer project in Salem, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a 390-square-foot water / sewer project.
The City of Salem, Virginia, is requesting sealed bids from qualified Bidders to provide sewerline replacement. Project must be completed within 90 days of the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Replacement of approximately 390 L.F. of 8-inch concrete pipe with 8" PVC from upstream MH 261-10 to downstream MH 275-1 (See Attachment C - Maps). B. Replacement of the external drop invert at MH 275-1 with an internal drop connection and all related work. C. Replacement and/or reconnection of up to four sewer laterals. D. Additional Information concerning project-specific information is provided in Attachment D - Additional Information. E. Due to the existing condition of the sewer, open cut is required. The sewer is approximately 6.3 feet deep at MH 261-10 and 9.7 feet deep at MH 275-1, with a 4.6-foot invert at the drop connection. Related work includes but is not limited to cutting and patching three (3) asphalt driveways. Cutting and patching up to two (2) feet of the edge of Diamond Road may be necessary to access the sewer. Patching of the driveway will require the replacement of the driveway from the sewer cut to Diamond Road. Each Bidder should carefully read and review all documents.
