The department of Computing and Communications Services (CCS) requires the installation of dual duct banks between the main campus and 202 Jarvis St, to provide voice and data communication infrastructure and network connectivity. A secondary objective would be to maximize the value to the University of routes. Main Campus is any two of the following addresses: 80 Gould St (RFF); 28 Church St (DCC); George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre 245 Church St (ENG); Bond St Manhole (In Design, in connection to KHW or POD). The scope of work will include two separate entrance facilities for inter-building fiberoptic and copper cable at the property line of 202 Jarvis St. Intra building connections to the existing campus network, coordination with the duct bank entry locations showing on 202 Jarvis communications drawings. TIMELINE: The Request for Proposal (RFP) engineers for the design and develop permit drawings for two (2) diverse communications duct bank pathways to service the 202 Jarvis Street Site was awarded October 2023. The consultant is acting as Prime Consultant providing connections to the University properties that are not in scope wherever possible and would align their work with CCS's underlying strategic goals for intra-building communications. The aim is to have minimal dependency on specific buildings and that the communications pathways are independent of campus buildings. The successful proponent shall provide Right of Way (ROW) solutions that incorporate all aspects of investigation and design. The successful proponent shall provide Investigation and recommended routing, detailed design and construction documents. The project is on hold pending funding allocation; tender and construction are expected spring/summer 2024. The procurement is anticipated to involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated.
