Renovation of an educational facility in Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Scope of Work DUAL TEMPERATURE PUMPS 1) Shut down and drain domestic water system. 2) Shut down power supply to pump, disconnect and make safe. 3) Demolish the existing domestic water booster system, including (2) pumps, (1) control panel, (4) 3" flanged gate valves, (1) 4x3 flanged tee, approximately 6' of 4" low-pressure cold-water piping (between demolished tee and tee to remain), approximately 20' of 3" discharge pipe, and approximately 20' of 4" discharge piping. 4) Install (1) duplex variable speed booster system with each pump rated 65 GPM at 140' with 5 hp, 3500rpm, three-phase, 208-volt motor. Packaged system to include 3" dual flange stainless steel headers, check valves, butterfly isolation valves, temperature relief sensors and NEMA-I duplex control panel with suction and system pressure transducers, PLC interface and individual pump variable speed drives. Include suction and discharge flexible connectors and rubber vibration mounts. Chicago code. 5) Install (1) 53-gallon ASME hydropneumatic pressure tank. 6) Install approximately 6' of 4" low-pressure cold-water piping, approximately 10' of 3" suction piping, 30' of 3" discharge piping, inlet, and outlet side of system to be equipped with full port ball valves, and a full-sized bypass. All piping to be properly supported. 7) Extend all relief valves to floor drains with 1/2" copper tube and fittings, terminated with air gap. 8) Connect pump to existing power supply, including all associated hardware, raceway, wiring, and (1) disconnect. 9) Perform manufacturer start-up. 10) Cover all piping with 1" thick fiberglass insulation and PVC fitting covers. 11) Contractor to secure necessary permits. 12) Contractor to field verify dimensions and specifics of all projects listed above before placing bid. 13) Not responsible for contractor errors as a result of non-field verification. 14) Materials and installation must comply with CPS Standards and Specifications as listed on a) SECTION 22 35 00 Domestic Water Pumps 15) Secure job site overnight if work is not completed in one day. 16) If building or CPS properties are damaged during construction, contractor to replace and/or repair as necessary. 17) Provide necessary labor and materials to fix/correct issues preventing any or all of the projects to be marked as completed. 18) All work shall be coordinated with the Board authorized representatives to complete in an agreed upon time frame. 19) Contractor is to remove and dispose of materials torn out and any construction debris. 20) All trash must be removed off-site by contractor. 21) Clean the surrounding area and make sure all is swept of debris. 22) All questions/requests must be received two (2) business days prior to bid closing.
