Renovation of a laboratory facility in Newport News, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
Jefferson Lab/Tech Center Projects anticipated in this submission are primarily envisioned to be performed in support of Jefferson Lab's ongoing growth and full implementation of public portions of the Tech Center Research Park Master Plan. Specific components may include enhancements to public areas, place-making efforts, transportation infrastructure project needs beyond the scope of established revenue sharing projects, and additional aesthetic improvements designed to further promote the scientific and R&D assets in and around Tech Center and Jefferson Lab. Project is included City of Newport News Fiscal Year 2024-2028. As of December 9, 2024, per owner, they have two buildings constructed as well as an events area. They are anticipating future development, although they don’t have specifics as to a construction schedule for the future buildings. The city’s engineering department managed the extension of Tech Center and Innovation Parkways to provide public street access to the entire research park. A design team and general contractor have been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
