As of November 8th, 2024, vertical construction has started. A construction manager has been identified. A firm construction timeline has not been released. This project completes a multi-biennia rehabilitation and modernization of one of the Uptown Campus West's principle science teaching and research facilities, Rieveschl Hall. The project will enable Rieveschl Hall to function independently of Crosley Tower, in preparation for the tower's demolition. A Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) contract is the planned delivery method for this renovation This project will be completed in two phases: The first phase will complete priority building infrastructure upgrades including the remaining envelope and life safety work which will ensure Rieveschl's operational independence from Crosley Tower. The project will also study the renovation of spaces to be vacated by functions that will move to other buildings such as the Old Chemistry Building, which is scheduled to complete in the summer of 2025. The first phase will also study the renovation of remaining spaces in Rieveschl Hall that have not been updated in over 20+ years. The second phase will implement the work begun in the first phase. The selected firm will plan, program, & design the following: o Provide construction documents for new Windows, new Curtainwalls, and repair plan for the facade. o Pressurize Rieveschl stairs and refresh finishes. o Review feasibility / create construction drawings to install a second elevator in existing open shaft intended for an elevator in the original construction. o Design Rieveschl Hall MEP systems to ensure operational independence from Crosley Tower. Include the following: o Fire Pump o Emergency Generator o Relocate Make-up Hot Water Tank currently located in Crosley Tower o Create limited service dock for Crosley Tower demolition o Install fire command center o Perform backfill Renovations for: o 412 - Open bay for chemistry research o 520, 521 - General chemistry or biology instruction o 429 - Open bay for chemistry research o 632, 633, 634, & 635 - Facilities Management Renovation Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Brian Phalen at brian.phalen@uc.edu
