Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the demolition of a power facility; for site work for a power facility; municipal facility; and municipal facility.
Work of this contract comprises the demolition and removal of the existing Landfill Gas Power Plant building, and associated equipment and services located within the Beare Road Closed Landfill site boundaries. The work includes the removal and disposal of existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure on and around the building; decommissioning and removal of buried and above grade utilities; decommissioning of above grade oil storage tanks; demolition of the building and other infrastructure some of which contains silica based materials and paint applications containing lead; asbestos abatement; installation of a new transformer and ancillary equipment including underground electrical ducts and cables to power the existing leachate pumping station; installation of buried piping and manholes for the landfill gas main water diversion; and disposal of all related wastes.
