TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals has been issued by the City of Toronto, seeking specialized Consulting services for the development of public-facing guidance materials targeted to the owners of existing buildings including homes in Toronto. The Deliverables to be provided by the Supplier under the Project will outline the pathways for building owners across building sectors to transition their existing buildings to net zero greenhouse gas emissions (net zero) in alignment with the 2040 goal of overall carbon neutrality under the City's TransformTO Net Zero Strategy. the City requires the Supplier to build awareness and capacity of building owners by producing user-friendly informational materials that: 1. Explain why the City of Toronto is targeting net zero in existing buildings and highlight the economic, environmental, and social benefits of decarbonization retrofits. 2. Inspire a call to action by building owners by presenting compelling and accurate information in plain language, supported by images, graphics, and charts. 3. Present guidance that owners can use to support their buildings' transition to net zero emissions by 2040 by laying out potential pathways in a step-by-step manner and highlighting opportunities to undertake key emissions reductions activities and deep retrofits over time in alignment with the normal course of building maintenance such as end of life replacements and repairs. 4. Present retrofit measures suitable for each building type including guidance on selecting and implementing projects, quantifying life cycle costs and emissions reductions, and addressing common challenges encountered with retrofits, including tips on how to avoid them. The Deliverables required are to be completed within 12 months of the Commencement Date of the Agreement (see Part 2) and in 4 phases as follows: 1.
