Demolition and renovation of a mixed-use development in Fort Gaines, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC) will accept bids in strict conformity with the bidding and Contract Documents for the Project listed below: Owner: Department of Natural Resources Project No. DNR-462-492-88301 Project Name: George T. Bagby State Park - Visitor Center Renovation Location: Fort Gaines, Georgia 39851. Bidders will be allowed to tour the project site at the mandatory pre-bid meeting and a general discussion of the project will take place. Failure to attend a mandatory pre-bid conference and/or site visit will automatically result in disqualification from the bid process. GSFIC reserves the right to disqualify a potential bidder due to a failure by the bidder to arrive for the pre-bid conference by the scheduled time. Questions. Questions regarding the bidding documents, the bidding process, e-Builder, and all other questions should be submitted in e-Builder. No questions other than those submitted in writing will be accepted, and only written responses will be binding upon GSFIC. From the date that this Invitation To Bid (ITB) is issued until a bidder is selected and the selection is announced, there shall be no communication for any reason, except during the pre-bid conference, between a bidder and any State employee other than the contracting officer listed regarding this ITB. GSFIC reserves the right to reject any bid for violation of this provision. Project consists of the renovation of the George T. Bagby Lodge into a Visitor Center, park offices, and conference space. The existing motel rooms and adjacent parking area will be demolished, and the parking areas unaffected by demolition will be resurfaced. The lodge renovation includes work in all parts of the 17,200 SF building, including new roofing, entry doors, porte-cohere and facade re-work, restaurant equipment installation, and related finishes and furnishings. New parking areas, drives and pedestrian plazas will be constructed in front of the lodge building. A landscaped campground amenity area with amphitheater, 850 SF picnic shelter and 1,500 SF comfort station will be developed. The existing pool and tennis courts will remain but will be renovated. Site work includes approximately 2,700 SY of concrete sidewalk, 360 SY of decorative concrete, 1,590 LF of 24" curb and gutter, 2,500 SY asphalt parking, 4,400 SY asphalt mill and overlay, and related site and amenity furnishings, site lighting, landscaping, contractor-delegated irrigation, and erosion control. A new laundry building in the cottage area of the park is also proposed.
