The City of Nogales (City) has been awarded a Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) grant for the La Castellana Drive Water Main Replacement Project, Bid #2023- WTR102. The City will receive sealed bids from qualified contractors with a Class A, General Contracting license as required by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors for this project. Specialty contracting licenses will be allowable if it can be demonstrated that the specialty license applies to this project. LOCATION AND GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: The purpose of the project is to design and permit the replacement of deteriorated sections of potable distribution main. The Design Report and Supplementary Drawings cover the design of the water projects. Specifications are included with this Invitation to Bid. The specific water main projects detailed in Chapter 2.0 of the Design Report involve replacement of sections of potable water mains to improve the overall condition and functionality of the distribution system; and in many cases, work involves relocating the mains out of private property. The sections of new distribution system will consist of new blue, pressure-rated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe. Nogales is located at the southern border of Arizona in Santa Cruz County. The population of Nogales is at 19,556 as estimated in 2022 by the U.S. Census encompassing a land area of approximately 20.83 square miles. SCOPE OF WORK The La Castellana Drive Water Main Replacement Project consists of the following pipeline replacement: La Castellana Drive Water Main, Project Number WIW-2022-10. La Castellana Drive Water : new components, materials and equipment for the project consist of 2,322 of 8 pressure Class 305 psi DR 14 (C900) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, 6 - 8 gate valves, 2 - 8 tapping sleeves with valves, 6 fire hydrant assemblies, 45 residential service connections, and one air release valves (ARV). All work will take place in accordance with the design drawings, water system notes and City of Tucson standard specifications for Water Main construction and will be located within the Nogales, Arizona and will part of the City s potable water distribution system. The contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, equipment, services, transportation and perform all the work for the City s project known as the La Castellana Drive Water Main Replacement Project for City of Nogales, Arizona as called for in the drawings/specifications. The proposer shall prepare a detailed time schedule for completion. BIDS All bids must be presented on the prescribed forms included in the contract documents.
