Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Jackson, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Reference Number 0000321571 The City of Jackson is inviting qualified consulting firms to submit proposals for engineering services required for major street reconstruction on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from South Street to Morrell Street in the City of Jackson. Reconstruction will include the following: Full depth pavement reconstruction Curb replacement for a reduced street width Replacement of permanent signs Construction of a mixed-use micro-mobility trail on one side of the street Sidewalk replacement on one side of the street Installation of low level decorative streetlights Infill tree plantings Water main and associated water service replacements Sanitary sewer and associated sewer service lateral replacements to right-of-way limits Traffic signal reconstruction with mast arm mounted signals at the High St and Prospect St intersections This project will be funded by a combination of federal grant money, City Water Funds, City Sewer Funds, City Major Street Funds and Special Assessments. The City of Jackson has applied for a Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant for the roadway construction and an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Grant for the water main and sanitary sewer construction. The construction of this project will be completed by two separate contracts. The construction contract for water main and sanitary sewer replacements will be let by the City of Jackson in September of 2024. Construction shall commence in April 2025 and be substantially complete with the street open to traffic in September 2025. The construction contract for street reconstruction and associated non-motorized facilities, lighting and traffic signals will be let by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) through the Local Agency Programs (LAP) office in September 2024. Construction shall commence in June 2025 and be substantially complete with the street open to traffic in October 2026.
