The Department of Economic and Community Development awarded the Town of Rocky Hill a Municipal Brownfields Grant for the assessment, abatement, demolition and remediation of the homestead portion of the property located at 374 New Britain Avenue. This property was acquired by the Town of Rocky Hill in 2019 to be used as farmland and passive open space. An environmental study by the Towns consultant, Zuvic, Inc., has found contaminated soils consisting of petroleum, lead, arsenic and pesticides The removal and proper disposal of regulated contaminated soils (petroleum, lead and arsenic). The covering of arsenic contaminated soils with specified fill. Construction of stone access driveway and parking area. Construction of paved driveway aprons and handicap parking stall with concrete walk Site grading, soil stabilization and erosion control Clearing and grading the location of the future barn
