Demolition, site work, remodeling and renovation of a military facility in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the remodel of a military facility.
This project provides for repairs to correct deficiencies at Pier C, Craney Island, Naval Station Norfolk. Project includes hydro demolition of deteriorated areas of pier deck, followed by concrete patching deck overlay; includes concrete repairs to spalled pile caps, curbing, and spalls on the underside of the pier deck. Project provides repairs to existing load-bearing timber pier piles as well as pier timberwork (diagonal and horizontal bracing beneath the pier as well as timber chock & wale systems along the edges of the pier). Project also repairs a substantial percentage of the existing timber fender piles by replacement with either salvaged timber piles, new timber piles or new composite piles. Project includes pre/post underdeck and piling inspections, downtime, and waste treatment from hydro demolition.
