The City of Charlottesville is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to furnish, deliver and install, utilizing the blowing method, certified engineered wood fiber (EWF) playground mulch at various school and park sites in Charlottesville, VA. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations applicable to the provision and performance by the Contractor of the work and services that are subject to any contract resulting from this solicitation. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials and incidentals necessary to furnish, deliver and install utilizing the blowing method, certified engineered wood fiber playground mulch to seven school and thirteen park sites annually as described in Attachment C. The City reserves the right to add/remove locations as necessary. All equipment, materials, and installation work shall comply with this specification, and the Virginia OSHA Standards. A copy of your EWF playground mulch certification should be provided with the bid. EWF must be installed to the top of the border of use zone. Upon completion, installers must ensure playground equipment and all areas outside of the installation area is free of debris. Orders will be placed by the Contract Administrator(s) or other authorized employees utilizing a Purchase Order. On-Call deliveries may be required due to weather and safety issues within seven business days. Period Of Contract: Contract shall be for one year beginning date of ratified contract with the option to renew under the terms of the original agreement for up to five (5) additional one year terms if agreed upon in writing by both parties.
