This improvements project for the City of Fredericksburg Courthouse at 701 Princess Anne Street involves the following: 4th Court Room: The 2014 Courthouse for the Circuit Court and General District Court (GDC) currently has three of four courtrooms finished and in use. The fourth courtroom needs to be furnished to be made operational. Proposed funding is preliminary but intended to complete that project. Carpet/Paint: The General District Court opened in July 2015. As part of the building's scheduled maintenance program, the carpet is in need of replacement every 10 years due to regular use and wear and routine wall surface painting is desired. Beginning in 2025, staff intends to begin a carpet replacement and interior wall paint program on each floor after every tenth year. Fiscal year 2024-2028 As of July 7, 2023, construction is expected during the FY2025-2027 *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
