Renovation of a medical facility in Williams Lake, British Columbia. Design plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Phase 2 will be renovations to the existing facility with 25 additional beds. The project's design includes a new emergency department and medical surgical unit, expanded ambulatory care and maternal and women's health units, the addition of a mental-health and substance-use inpatient unit, a multi-purpose gathering room and space for the University of British Columbia's faculty of medicine program. New parking stalls will also be added to the site. TIMELINE: Project is on hold pending by the owner. Phase 1 construction, which includes the addition, is underway and is expected to finish fall 2026. Phase 2 construction, which includes renovations to the existing hospital, will begin in late fall 2026 and is scheduled to be complete in early 2029. Further update late spring, 2026. *The budget for Phase 1 and 2 is about $366 million and will be shared by the Province and the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District.
