The scope of this project includes design, fabrication, and installation of a free-standing metal Children s Tree sculpture. The Artist is to provide all necessary services for the project. Within the RFP, Exhibit A: Sculpture Parameters, outlines general information pertaining to the expected size, scale, materiality, and finishes for the proposed tree sculpture and its components. It is intended for Artists to draw upon these parameters during design, fabrication, and finishing. Note that during the Artist selection process, a mock-up is required of the submitted Artists that have been short-listed. Mock-ups shall convey the Artist's creativity, abilities, and craft and replicate the mock-ups the Library currently has in their possession. Mock-ups shall include a section of tree trunk (base of tree) showing surface finishing & bark and a section of peripheral branch including small limbs, leaves, and finishes. Note: Selected Artist can incorporate mock-ups into final work. The City of Waverly, Iowa, will hold a public hearing at 7:00 PM, on August 07, 2023, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Waverly, Iowa. At said hearing any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements. At the hearing, the City will receive and consider any objections made by any interested party, to the Artist proposals, proposed form of Contract, and the anticipated cost for the project. The right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities is reserved by the City of Waverly. Dated in Waverly, Iowa this 31st day of May 2023.
