The City of Gaithersburg has not traditionally issued bonds for capital improvement projects. Instead, it has set aside funding to allow the City to operate under a pay-as-you-go method. This project establishes funding in future years to meet City Hall improvements under this philosophy. When specific projects are identified, funds and expenditures will be transferred to a new project. The City conducted a Facility Condition Assessment and User Needs Analysis of City Hall in FY18. Based on the recommendations of the study, a number of projects have been identified and were initially prioritized. However, given the changes that have occurred in the last two years a reevaluation will need to take place. This project is included in the city's fy 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program.
