The City of Gaithersburg is seeking bids from qualified contractors for traffic signal and associated improvements at the intersection of Christopher Avenue and Russell Avenue. The project will consist of updating the traffic signal equipment, improve the intersection with Americans with Disability Act (A.D.A.) improvements, traffic camera relocation, drainage improvements and pedestrian sidewalk improvements. The Contractor shall, within ten (10) business days following receipt of a notice of intent to award issued by the City, furnish to the City an executed payment bond and executed performance bond, both of which shall:(i) be in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total Contract sum;(ii) bear the same effective dates; (iii) be executed prior to the effective date of the Contract and not expire prior to the end of the term of the Contract; and (iv) include a certified copy of the Power of Attorney of the attorney-in- fact that executed the bond. The City expects the project to be completed by September 30, 2025 or earlier.
