Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Elkton, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a detention facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the construction of a detention facility.

Retrofit Exterior Space for Parking/Sallyport, will include an exterior addition to the existing building which will accommodate a new sallyport for prisoner transfer, secure the vehicular evidence processing area, and provide permanent secure exterior storage. The sallyport will include three garage bays anc a handicap accessible entrance to the holding cells. This project will also include enclosing the rear parking area with security fencing and gates. Ideally, this project could be constructed in conjunction with the Department of Emergency Services project, Retrofit Exterior for Parking/Sallyport, which will provide a sallyport, storage, and covered housing for trie generator. This project is included in the county’s fy 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program. As of December 3, 2024, further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
