Site work for a water / sewer project in North East, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
With the expansion of the NERAWWTP collection system now including Principio Business Park, Elkton West and other~ areas, the force main will need to be expanded. In addition, the force main break and subsequent sewer spill in 2020 requires that the County do an overall assessment of the condition of the force main. It is envisioned that the project will address main sections potentially at risk and increase the capacity of the force main. It is envisioned that: he first phase will include spot repairs to any area found to be at risk of failures needed and install a second force main parallel to or replacing the existing force main from the treatment plant to the Principio Pump Station. Future phases may expand the force main further east. This project is included in the county’s fy 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program. As of December 3, 2024, further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
