Strategic Priority - Lifelong Learning Excellence (item #41- Current estimated cost ($575 per sq ft) for a new 20,000 square foot facility to serve the Daleville community. Daleville residents regularly request a Daleville branch, as further evidenced in recent County surveys. A new branch would better serve the current anticipated population growth in the Daleville community and alleviate the strain on the Blue Ridge and Fincastle branches, both of which are already inadequate meet existing demands. Many Daleville residents currently travel to the Vinton Library, which is the closest library with adequate amenities for their needs. Mo libraries include large children's interactive play areas, hands-on labs and makerspaces, cafes, study rooms and large meeting and performance spaces, and othe amenities not available in any of the library's current smaller facilities. As of April 4, 2026, this project is included in the Botetourt County Fiscal Year 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Plan. Further information regarding a design firm has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for Fiscal Year 2029-2030. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
