This entails the design and subsequent construction of riverbank stabilization measures along an approximately 700-foot reach of the South Platte River at the City of Auroras (Citys) Prairie Waters System North Campus Well Field (Well Field). The Well Field, located on the west bank of the South Platte River approximately midway between Brighton and Fort Lupton, consists of a series of groundwater production wells which indirectly capture water from the South Platte River for the Citys consumptive use. These groundwater production wells are offset approximately 100 to 200 feet from the riverbank. Subsequent to construction, the Well Field periodically has experienced riverbank erosional damage resultant from channel alignment changes due to human and/or natural causes. As the Well Fields infrastructure is near the riverbank, riverbank erosion poses a threat to this infrastructure. This addresses the most recent riverbank erosion threat to the Well Field. Under this the riverbank within the reach will be properly stabilized, and where appropriate the bank edges will be restored (built up) to sufficiently protect the existing Well Field infrastructure. This work will include, but not be limited to, general grading and earthwork; dewatering and erosion control; placement of mixed and buried rock riprap; placement of COIR (or equivalent) blankets; and plantings for wetland, upland, and transition zone vegetation. Bank restoration and placement of riprap will require temporary diversion of the South Platte River and active dewatering at the toe of the reclaimed slope. All work will be performed on City-owned property. The estimated cost for this is from $1,300,000.00 to $1,600,000.00. The Contract Documents require that all work be Substantially Complete by December 29, 2023 with Final Completion by February 2, 2024 *The value for this is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official document. The City shall have the right to reject any and all Bids. A Bid not accompanied by the required Bid Security, other data or documentation required, or a Bid in any other way incomplete, irregular or unqualified, may be subject to rejection.
