Site work for a water / sewer project in Red Lodge, Montana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Bids will be received for one General Contract that includes Base Bid Items, and Optional Bid Items. The purpose of this reclamation project is to reconstruct streambank and upland areas of a former repository adjacent to Rock Creek, in Red Lodge, Montana. The repository at a former mine reclamation project has been impacted by flooding which also changed the flow pattern of Rock Creek and exposed an abandoned concrete bridge pier. The June 2022 flood event eroded the toe of the slope leaving a dangerous high wall and resulting in additional erosion of the repository into Rock Creek. This reclamation project includes stabilizing the eroded highwall, placement of imported fill and on-site materials to restore the slope, placement of riprap to stabilize the stream bank, and revegetation of the disturbed areas with native grasses, forbs, and willows. Work will include: excavation and stockpiling of cover soil in the work areas; excavation and regrading of the existing highwall; placement and compaction of imported fill and native coal to restore the slope; construction of a riprap stream bank; placement of stockpiled and imported cover soil over disturbed areas and the riprap bank; seeding fertilizing and mulching; placement of mulch mat in steep areas and atop the soil covered and seeded riprap; and planting of willow stems along the riprap streambank.
