Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Byron, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a recreation facility; for outdoor lighting for a recreation facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
This project is for site work adjacent to the new Oxbow Nature Center. Olmsted County recently opened a new nature center at Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo. Demolition of the old nature center is commissioned for this summer, and during June/July the project area will be cleared, rough graded, and compacted. Work of this Contract will commence afterwards and result in walks, plaza, and special fencing that connects the new nature center (which already has some concrete walk, plaza, and a segment of zoo fencing) to the zoo. Work is to consist of select vegetation, plank walk, and concrete path removals; grading; earthwork; concrete walk (including special finishes); masonry for extension of a CMU / limestone veneer wall (referred to in the drawings as Swedish Fence); placement of structural soils and tree grates; electrical for outdoor power and lighting; native and pollinator lawn seeding; and restoration.
