We therefore recommend that the City of Hendersonville award the construction contract for the WWTF Aeration Basin No. 2 Repairs and Rehabilitation project to IPC Structures LLC, for the total bid amount of $1,290,945.00. The total bid amount includes the base bid amount of $1,259,445.00, plus the alternate bid amount of $31,500.00 Wastewater treatment plant Aeration Basin All quotes should be received in IPC Structures office no later than 12:00 PM the day prior to the bid, via MAIL (2000 Spartanburg Hwy, Suite 600, Hendersonville, NC 28792), EMAIL (acreasman@ipcstructure.com). The Hendersonville WWTF Aeration Basin No. 2 Repairs and Rehabilitation Project consists of new concrete buttresses assemblies and associated timber piles constructed on the exterior of the north wall of Aeration Basin No. 2 to provide structural support against further deflection/bowing. Prior to beginning the installation of the timber piles and construction of the concrete buttresses assemblies, the contractor will be required to clean Aeration Basin No. 2 following its removal from service by the City to allow for thorough inspection of the interior face of the north wall and adjacent areas of the base slab of Aeration Basin No. 2. The project also includes the repair of exterior cracks on the existing Aeration Basins. The repairs are expected to include the use of low viscosity, hydrophilic expanding polyurethane injection chemical grout adhesive system, and polymer modified cementitious mortar. The project also includes the installation of a watertight epoxy or urethane surface protection coating system to the interior of Aeration Basin No. 2.
