As of July 28, 2023, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. Ruston Housing Authority/Ruston Community Corporation will receive sealed bids for The Construction of Twenty Single Family Homes. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150- 2192 for the classification of Building Construction. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the Base Bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or Bid Bond written by a surety or insurance company complying with R.S. 38:2218 C. The Bid Bond shall be in the favor of the Owner, and shall be accompanied by appropriate power of attorney. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract amount, written by a surety or insurance company meeting the requirements noted in R.S. 38:2219 A. (1)(a), (b) and (c). Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212(B) (5). No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38:2212(B)(1). The provisions and requirements of this Section and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity.
