https://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/news/2024/05/28/house-intelligence-committee-wright-patterson-air.html Turner has supported a bevy of funding for local projects in recent months. He recently secured $18 million for the Phase V planning and design of the Acquisition Management Complex for Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The 214,000-square-foot facility will streamline organizations which are serving LCMC. Turner also secured $4 million for redevelopment of the former Wright Bros Factory in Dayton as part of the 2024 Community Project Funding priorities. In the education sphere, Turner secured $2 million for Sinclair Community College to purchase cutting-edge medical equipment; increase capacity in its Health Sciences programs; add histotechnology certificate programs; and renovate several labs at the Dayton campus. _____________________ https://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/news/2024/05/07/local-military-hospital-receives-safety-grade.html This marks a big win for the Wright-Patt center, which already has plans for a "massive renovation" to the facility in 2025. _______________ https://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/news/2024/04/18/construction-projects-wright-patterson-air-force.html Child Development Centers As the construction of a new Child Development Center on the base will begin next month, Pond said a second one is already in the pipeline. Earlier this year, Butt Construction Co. in Beavercreek was announced as the builder for a $31 million Child Development Center. The 43,000-square-foot building will hold 300 children. The project will break ground May 13. We will have a second one in the pipeline for the next year, Pond said. The first center will include 22 child activity rooms, break rooms, training rooms, offices, laundry rooms, a kitchen and various utility rooms. It will serve children aged six weeks to five years old. _______________________ https://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/news/2024/02/14/child-development-center-wpafb.html A commercial construction company that specializes in defense-related projects is moving forward with a $31 million project. The project will bring a new building to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and provide a much-needed service to employees on base. Beavercreek-based Butt Construction Co. is leading a project to bring a child development center to WPAFB. The 43,000-square-foot building is replacing an aging building no longer meeting base needs, and will bring with it a state-of-the-art center to help meet childcare needs of base employees. Butt Construction role in the project includes infrastructure, site prep, landscaping, parking and roadway extension, as well as a playground and incidental work. The center will include 22 child activity rooms, break rooms, training rooms, offices, laundry rooms, a kitchen and various utility rooms. It is designed to accommodate 304 children as young as infants aged six weeks to children five years old, as well as staff members. The center is being designed and built to follow the latest Air Force Child Development Center technology, safety, security and sustainability standards, with the facility being designed to help children learn through play. In addition to the activity rooms that promise ample space for the children, there will be five distinct outdoor play environments divided by age group that will provide age-appropriate activities. The building architecture is going to be safe, child-friendly, familiar and comfortable in its form, materials, color and scale. Additionally, it will require minimal maintenance to ensure the safety for children and staff. Not only is it going to provide a wonderful environment where these children can learn through play, but its also going to provide a state-of-the-art workplace for the people who are going to be working there, said Rachel Butt, CEO of Butt Construction. That kind of environment gives our military families peace of mind when they drop off their children at daycare. While Butt Construction was awarded the design and construction for the project through a defense contract, several companies are working on the project to make it come together. Barge Design Solutions based out of Miamisburg is the lead design firm on the project, with Lebanon-based FireLogix doing the fire protection design, Hussey Gay Bell doing interior design work and Above Green leading the sustainability design. The total design for the project will take a year, but it is broken up into multiple packages. Site demolition is slated to begin as early as March, with the contractual completion date set for January 2026. Butt Construction dates back to 1927. _________________________ AMENDMENT 0006 - PHASE II FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
