The 2023 Open-Cut Repair Project base bid requires the repair of existing 8" o or 10" o VCP sanitary sewer pipe, and 6" o VCP sanitary sewer connections. There are 4 repair spots within 3 site locations all within the Town of Dyer. Excavated 6", 8" or 10" VCP sanitary pipe shall be replaced with 6", 8" or 10" SDR 26 PVC sewer pipe including installation of Fernco type transition couplings. Sanitary laterals as encountered during sewer section replacement shall be installed using 8" x 6" SDR 26 WYE Tee house connections or 10" x 6" as required and all necessary materials to make the connections. Work also includes installation of manholes to provide town access to sanitary sewers. All 3 repair locations require proper bedding, back fill compaction, asphalt and aggregate base course restoration or seeding restoration, traffic control, protection of adjacent structures and utilities, and all other related work. There are also 3 repair spots within 2 site locations included as alternates to the base bid, those alternates include all requirements described above. No bidder may withdraw her or his proposal within a period of 70 days following the date set for receiving bids. The Dyer Board of Water/Sanitary Commissioners reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 70 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Board further reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the Dyer Board of Water/Sanitary Commissioners. The successful Contractor and his or her subcontractors shall be a licensed contractor with the Town of Dyer in accordance with Dyer Municipal Code.
