Project Overview: The capital project involves the construction of a New Spaces childcare addition to our existing school facility on Saturna Island. The estimated budget for the project is $2.5 million. The project manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the build, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, quality standards, and safety regulations. Preference will be given to project managers in the Gulf Islands and Victoria area. Saturna Island is a remote location with limited access by Ferry. The Project is currently finalizing design and estimated costing. Scope of Work: The project manager's responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including budget, timeline, and resource allocation. Coordinate construction management, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers involved in the project. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Director of Capital Projects. Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project. Manage change orders and variations to the project scope. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including school administrators, staff, and external contractors. Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained for the project. Provide regular financial reports and oversee project budgeting and cost control. Ensure completion of all project documentation, including contracts, warranties, and record drawings. Coordinate and oversee the final inspections and handover of the completed daycare addition.
