watersheds in the county have been identified to be studied and modeled in order to develop solutions to reduce flooding. Maps of the watershed areas are included at the end of this document. Evaluation of the watersheds will include (but is not limited to) data gathering, surveying, hydrologic modeling, hyrdraulics modeling with future flowrates, and an analysis of alternatives to reduce flooding. Alternatives may include, but are not limited to, channel improvements, flood storage, property acquisition (buyouts), increasing culvert/bridge openings, developing policy to reduce future increases in flooding, or some combination thereof. The watershed study and proposed solutions will be presented to the Greenwood County Council once complete. The selected firm, as a portion of its required scope of services and prior to submitting its cost proposal will discuss and clarify with the Owner the cost breakdown of the watershed study with detailed cost components to address the Owner's project requirements. The selected firm should provide the following categories of services: data gathering, surveying, hydrologic modeling, hydraulics, mapping, alternatives analysis and potential implementation of flood control measures.
