Materials supplied by the contractor to the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA), Maintenance & Operations Department, Street Maintenance Section for Bulk Sodium Chloride, shall conform to the specifications herein. All material will be void of foreign matter, such as wood, plastic, and gravel. Foreign material in any load may be grounds to reject all material. Hard lumps of salt are also unacceptable. The Contractor will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status or mental or physical handicap. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment without regard to the characteristics listed above. Such action will include, without limitation, employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer, recruitment or recruiting advertising, lay-off or termination, rates of pay or other forms of compensation and selection for training including apprenticeship. The Contractor will post in conspicuous places, available to employees and applicants for employment, notices setting forth the provisions of this non-discrimination clause. The contractor will comply with all laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination including, but not limited to Title 5 and Title 7 of the Anchorage Municipal Code SODIUM CHLORIDE: TYPE 1 - Bulk Must meet the requirements of the most current revision of AASHTO M143, Type I, Grade 1 and shall be obtained from natural deposits or man produced. Minimum 95% NaC1 chemical composition. The delivered product must include Yellow Prussiate of Soda anti-cracking agent to ensure that material remains free from hard caking and suitable for its intended purpose. Maximum water content at delivery to the F.O.B. Point shall not exceed 3% based on dry weight. Delivered in "bulk" form. Liquidated Damages for Late Delivery: Late delivery will cause the MOA to suffer damages. Actual damages will be difficult to assess; therefore, it is mutually agreed that the contractor will pay the MOA damages at the rate of $100.00 per occurrence for each calendar day beyond the delivery date called for in the specifications Written questions will be received no later than 12:00 P.M.
