Peterborough Utilities Group (PUG) has an est. 27,000 residential 5/8" x 3/4" water meters actively installed within the City of Peterborough. We currently, install and/or replace an average of 400-500 residential water meters annually. In 2026, PUG will begin a 5-year residential water meter replacement program, aimed to replace an est. total of 17,500 water meters that are near end of life. PUG has plans to obtain a supplier that will begin supply only of residential water meters between 2024-2030. The supplier will supply meters to support annual routine residential water meter replacements/new installs (est. 400-500 annually) and the residential water meter replacement program (est. 3,500 annually for 5 years).
