Proposed Relocation of Odor Mitigation System of units 2 & 3 at the Middlesex County Landfill. The work included under this contract involves the relocation of the top tier odor mitigation system, consisting of Units 1, 2, and 3. This contract includes relocated Units 1, 2, and 3 to a more permanent location. Unit 1 will be located along the Ramp 1 of the landfill adjacent to the recently installed temporary rain cover system along the northern landfill slope. Unit 1 distribution pipe will be reinstalled along the edge of the landfill plateau, extending in the eastern/southeastern direction. Units 2 and 3 will be relocated at the base of the landfill directly adjacent to Pond 4. Solid 6" dia. HDPE distribution pipe will be installed up the side slope to connect the Units to the perforated distribution piping that will be reinstalled along the edge of the landfill plateau. Unit 2 distribution piping will extend in the northern direction, while Unit 3 piping will extend in the southern/southeastern direction. The odor mitigation conveyance/distribution pipes (4-inch HDPE SDR 32.5 pipe) will be remounted on T-brackets penetrating through the soil/waste. Contractor shall reuse the existing 4" dia. HDPE SDR 32.5 pipes and t-post structures. New 6" dia. HDPE SDR 21 pipe will be procured by the Contractor. The reinstallation of the system will also include electrical improvements to ensure an adequate electrical supply capable of running the odor mitigation system. Contractor shall reuse existing electrical wires.
