Project Nabnasset Fire Station No. 4 Designer Services. Scope Designer services for evaluation of the rehabilitation or replacement of the Nabnasset Fire Station No. 4. Information Designer services includes conceptual design through schematic design of new fire station. Services to include evaluation of up to three sites for locating fire station. Questions or requests for additional information must be submitted in writing to Eric Heideman, Assistant Town Manager, Westford Town Hall, 55 Main Street, Westford, MA 01886 or via email eheideman@westfordma.gov no later than 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023. The selected consultant will be responsible for working with the PTBC, Town Manager, Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Fire Department staff, and other appropriate Town staff and committees to provide an objective approach towards determining the long term needs for Fire Station No.4, developing an initial program for the appropriate size of the facility that will meet those needs, and investigating up to three alternative locations (including the current location) for this facility. It is expected that the consultant will complete a Conceptual Design of the facility for the three locations that are selected. The PTBC’s intent is to provide a summary on the Facility Assessment and Conceptual Designs including preliminary recommendations on the location for the station by February 1, 2024. Upon approval by the PTBC and Town of the selected location and facility design, the selected consultant will be expected to substantially complete the Schematic Design and Design Development phases by September 1, 2024. The design must be sufficiently completed by this deadline in order to allow the PTBC to consider seeking additional funding for final construction documents design, permitting, bidding and construction of the facility at Special Town Meeting in October 2024.
