The SB USH 51 left turn lane concrete at Pflaum Rd. and Buckeye Rd. has deteriorated and needs repair. Refer to Wisconsin Standard specifications 460, or Attachment B, for Hot Mix Asphalt specifications. Remove existing 9-inch thick concrete within the limits indicated on the pavement (marked by WisDOT staff) Proof-roll the subgrade Spot EBS compromised areas (if any), place geogrid at the bottom of the excavation, replace unsuitable material with compacted BAD 1 1/4-inch BAD 1 1/4 -inch placement (minimum 6" thick including existing base course to concrete) to bring subgrade elevation to current top pavement elevation minus 7 inches. See Attachment C for as-built plans. HMA 4 HT 58-28 V placement (total of 7 inches): 2.5-inch binder layer 2.5-inch mid layer 2-inch top layer Re-stripe any compromised pavement markings The Contractor is responsible to remove loose aggregate or debris prior to opening driving lanes to traffic. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check payable to the Dane County Public Works, Highway & Transportation Department, or a bid bond, as a guarantee in the amount of 5% of the total bid.
