Reference Number 0000249957 Wabaseemoong Independent Nations is proceeding with upgrades to its existing wastewater treatment plant. The community is located 95 km northwest of Kenora, Ontario, on the northern shore of the Winnipeg River. The reserve lands are accessible year-round via Highway 525. The general scope of work consists of the following: Replace two submersible pumps for the sand filters Repairs to primary and secondary clarifiers Replace motors for clarifiers and provide protection for outdoor motors Remove two existing RBC treatment units Replacing interior lights in the WWTP Replacing exterior lights on the WWTP Replace exterior doors in treatment process room Replace fuel tank and fuel line for the indoor generator Replace various HVAC equipment and controllers Remove and remediate mold behind drywall on interior block wall Replace indicating bulbs, hour meters, and power meter in the MCC Re-program the existing autodialer Install new epoxy coating on a concrete alum storage tank Service UV unit and replace various components Install treated sewage sample pump and pipe sample to lab room sink. Modifications to the grating over sumps throughout the plant Replace septic tank pumps and controller Install ice rakes on roof Repair damaged soffit around the building The MBBR equipment, the MBBR blower, and the aeration grid system has been pre-arranged with Nexom Inc. General Contractor is to sign a Novation Agreement and co-ordinate installation works with Nexom. Some MCC components have been pre-ordered through City Electric. The General Contractor will be responsible for installation of materials supplied. Interested General Contractors who have expertise in wastewater or water treatment plant construction are invited to submit Pre-Qualification Documents. Wabaseemoong Independent Nations reserves the right to accept any or all submissions and/or to re-issue this RFPQ to additional proponents as needed to ensure adequate competition. Only those General Contractors which Wabaseemoong Independent Nations deemed qualified from this pre-qualification process will be invited to submit tender bids for this project.
